Hello,

How do I create a new custom form/task in MAS500 from scratch? Also, how do I look at the source code behind MAS500's forms/tasks?

Thanks.

The code behind in MAS 500 is all proprietary and VB6. You can ask your VAR to order the SDK and source code for you, but, be ready for the heart attack when they present the pricing. It stands somewhere in teh neighborhood of 10K for the SDK and 10+ K per module. SAGE does not provide any code for the .NET task which they have developed thus far, even to the VARs and registered developers. Oh, and you will also need to purchase any of the third party controls that the code is dependant upon, like the Farpoint Spread 7.

The most cost effective way for end users to develop new tasks is laid out in the pages of this site. Begin the .NET Project, reference your current MAS 500 Framework dlls and develop to your hearts content. The only caveat is: DO NOT modify the base schema (tables) of the system. This could render it unsupported by SAGE and/or your VAR. If you need guidance, please talk through the project goals with your VAR or a certified MAS 500 developer.

Hope that helps a little
